Does it make sense to read old style advanced c++ books? Which are modern C++ books? [on hold]

Currently I am reading the Modern C++ Design by Alexandrescu and found it very old style written. Although it is discussing various aspects of using C++03, I think it is kind of old fashioned because there are more easy and modern ways to aim the same results.

So my question is which are the modern books for advanced C++ Design, like this book was in its time? Does it make seance to read this book to learn some old tics with c++03??
