Non Case Sensitive User Input [on hold]

How to make a C++ program treat all of the following in the same way:

alpha, alpHa, alPha, alphA 

My aim is to make a text based game, hence user response shouldn't be case sensitive. How can I do this?

I'm clueless as to go about this, as my experience is quite limited. This I haven't tried anything so far.
