So I'm getting close the end of the book, "Teach Yourself C++ in 21 Days", which is a very good beginner book and I recommend it (though it has definitely taken me longer than 21 days), and now I'm ready for the next step. I've seen a thread or two on here recommending a bunch of different books but most of them seem like C++ best practices and ways to improve your code. Are there any out there that show you how to actually put a program together? Maybe walk you through sample programs that you create along with them? Also, maybe something explaining how to decide when to use things like pointers and references or when to create your own types etc. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thank you.
