Boost (hombrew version) compilation error with QT5, gnu49, C++11 . Error: "BOOST_JOIN" on Mac OS X El Capitan

While recompiling a C++ project on Mac OS X El Capitan with QT5, gnu49, C++11 and getting the following error.

/usr/local/Cellar/boost/1.60.0_2/include/boost/type_traits/detail/has_binary_operator.hp:50: Parse error at "BOOST_JOIN"

Any advice would be appreciated. I tried the obvious (e.g updating/reinstalling boost, brew,qt5) without much success.
