How to transfere xliff files translated with STL trados to Qt Linguist

We are using Qt-Linguist for translating our C++ application. Our translation office is working with SDL Trados Studio to manage its translation.

As SDL Trados Studio studio is not capable to work with ts files, we now use xliff files.

Qt-Linguist works as follows:

  1. Creation of a translation file, no attributes are set at all
  2. Translation of a word, the element "target" gets the optional attribute "state" with the value set to "needs-review-translation"
  3. A translator or anybody approves the translation and the state attribute gets removed in the element translation and instead the element "trans-unit" gets the optional attribute "approved" and it is set to "yes".

This is how the Qt-Linguists implementation of xliff works.

SDL Trados Studio instead only works with the "target" elements state attribute. So when I receive the translated xliff file from our translation office all targets states are set to "translated".

Unfortunally Qt-linguist I cannot automatically set all approve attributes to yes but even sets all states back to "needs-review-translation" as it seems not to be able to handle a state "translated".

According to the XLIFF 1.2 specification, all things are valid.

Can anyone provide me a hint how to handle this?
