Modern C++, non technical problems

I am working in a group where there are only three C++ developers including me. We have 2 legacy code bases and one relatively new. The legacy code bases are one worse than the other and we hope we will not have to touch them ever. The question is regardin the relativly new code. So my two other colleagues are kind of old fashioned. They don’t know modern C++ and don’t want to know. Moreover, they don’t accept any modern C++ related comments (one of them does not accept any comments at all) and continue adding more and more raw pointers. So many colleagues that have left mentioned the need or desire to use moder C++ but nothing changed so far. Thesr that left, left in frustration that nothing is going to change in this group. The group needs more C++ developers and the company cannot find any. Now I am about to leave too due to frustration. Just wanted to ask here what are the killer points (that no manager can denay) of why modern C++ should be preferred over the 98 one. Personally for me it’s because with C++98 experience I cannot pass any reasonable interview. Although read technical books and know the theory I would prefer using it at work as well.
