IDirectSound8 not recognize by the header

I am doing an audio project where I am trying to implement a 3D sound system. Therefore, I need to use classes as IDirectSound8 part of the header called: dsound.h. The problem is that it keeps underlying red IDirectSound8 saying the identifier "IDirectSound8" is undefined". The thing is that I have included the header dsound.h and inside it, I can see that IDirectSound8 is written and defined.

It's been a couple of days I am trying to include SDKs library and do several other things and it does not work at all. I have a side project cloned from 2008 where I am doing a 3D sound system and it works and runs perfectly onto visual studio 2019 and vs2019 vs2010 compilers. My main project is on VS2017 and the compiler is vs2010 with win32 debugger.

if you have any ideas, please let me know.

thank you for your help.

regards,
