already defined error while linking static library to a project in c++

i am trying to use a static library in the project. When i link in the properties of the project and compile. I am getting a lot of errors like _fclose is already defined in libcmtd.lib and file->MSVCRTD.lib(MSCR120D.dll). i need to link this static library somehow. can anyone tell me how to do this?
